Jakarta particular - fantastic.

Take Thailands 50 million people, multiply that by four, figure out what normal percentage of the population are good looking, fucking-age girls (10%?), give them tits/asses sans BKK's cosmopolitan/NIC attitude, and you've got Indonesia.

Hell, its Thailand 15-20 years ago, sans the go-go bars but with better looking girls. IMHO. Someone posted going for a girl with a tout - hell with that. If you check into Melawai, go next door to Lintas Melawai and take your pick. (Don't bother with the Melawai 6th floor massage, as it closes at midnight so if its 1130 PM the girls are all fucked over anyway.)

If you don't like whats at Lintas Melawai, get a bluebird taxi outside of Gelael supermarket 100 m from Melawai, and go to TopGun, Oscars, or Pentagon some 10 minutes away. If you don't like whats there, go to Blok M Plaza in your taxi and pick-up a girl standing on the street after about 10:00 PM (although with the recent police roundups, the McChica stops are somewhat depleted in number as they're scared of the cops picking them up).
If you don't like that, go North to Bengkel, Hardrock, BATS, Tavern, Pitstop, Tanamur, JJs, Tiara Ceria, Atlanta, Stadium, Marlboro, Siera, etc etc etc. While the joints are spread-out, they're ALL OVER THE PLACE.

Rent a Silverbird taxi for the night will cost you about Rp 200,000 (about $23 at Rp 8500/US$), but its a good investment, particularly on the first night if you're a newbie.

Marlboro is on the south side of Hayam Waruk, about across from the New Holland Bakery but before Gajah Mada plaza. It used to be a Today's Country type of place. Today's Country has been renamed Tiara Ceria. Siera is a MP/Bar near the Olympic Hotel off of Mangga Besar, one street south of Lokasari Plaza/Atlanta Disco/Tiara Ceria. Across the street from Siera is Mawar Bintang, which is also an MP/Bar but girls are not as pretty as Siera. As you drive NE along Manga Besar, look for the small Olympic Hotel sign on one of the smaller side streets (although it does have a stop light) and turn left. Siera and Mawar Bintang are about 50 m off of Manga Besar.
